This is the most common question we get and is complicated to answer.

To all looking to permanently customize their bodies- remind yourself "This is temporary consenting pain! with permanent gains!"

While tattoo pain does vary person to person and place to place. We have found the majority of our clients say "Wow, its not as bad as I thought!"

We say its about a 6 out of 10 and the pain comes and goes in waves.

If you have a small tattoo planned it will hurt less as your being tattooed for less time.

If you have a multiple hour session planned that includes color packing or shading, it will hurt, and a lot. Getting your mind set right and breathing techniques will help.


The cost of a tattoo at Velvet Ink Tattoos depends on the size, complexity, and placement of the design. We offer competitive pricing and our artists will work with you to create a design that fits your budget.


Absolutely. At Velvet Ink Tattoos, we take your safety and well-being very seriously. We use only sterilized equipment and follow strict hygiene protocols to ensure that your tattoo or piercing is safe and clean.


Yes, we require a deposit to secure your appointment time. The amount of the deposit will depend on the size and complexity of your tattoo or piercing, and will be applied towards the cost of the service. The minimum deposit expected to book with our artists is 50$. 


We like to keep things transparent here- Our deposit policy is below;


At Velvet Ink Tattoo Studio, every appointment is reserved especially for you. To secure your booking, a non-refundable deposit is required for all tattoo appointments. The deposit will be applied toward the total cost of your tattoo at check out.

Deposits help us ensure our artists’ time is respected, that their artwork leading up to the appointment is compensated and that their schedule runs as smoothly as possible.

Deposit Terms;
 Required at time of booking. No appointment is confirmed until your deposit has been received.
Deposits are not returned in cases of cancellation, no-show, or reschedule with less than 48 hours’ notice.
Deposits may be transferred to a new appointment once, provided at least 48 hours’ notice is given.
Deposits will be forfeited if: You cancel your appointment. Reschedule inside 48 hours of your appointment. Do not show up for your appointment. Arrive more than 20 minutes late without prior notice. Significantly change the design or reduce tattoo size without prior consultation. 

Rescheduling;

  If you need to reschedule, please reach out to your artist at least 48 hours before your appointment to retain your deposit! We’ll do our best to find a new time that works for everyone. 

Design Changes;
Minor design adjustments are welcome, but major changes may require additional design time or a new deposit. Please communicate all changes in advance to ensure your artist has adequate time to prepare.

Applying Your Deposit;

  Your deposit will be automatically subtracted from your final total at checkout. If your tattoo requires multiple sessions, your deposit will be applied to the final session. 

Exceptions;
Velvet Ink reserves the right to refund or transfer deposits in cases of medical emergencies or studio-initiated rescheduling. Velvet Ink reserves the right to retain refunds on a case by case basis determined by the deposit policy.

By submitting your deposit, you acknowledge and agree to the terms outlined in this policy. 


 

Welcome to the wide world of body customization! lets get you started;

Have a base idea of what you would like tattooed. This can be as simple as a picture you enjoy, to a detailed explanation with reference materials. Either way, reach out! You can email, txt or call for a free consultation. We will discuss your ideas, your budget, your timeline. 


 No, but you can reschedule to get tattooed when you are healthy!


 

1. Eat a balanced meal beforehand.

2. Drink plenty of water.

3. Avoid alcohol the day before, day of, and day after!

4. Don't take blood thinning painkillers ( Aspirin )

5. Bring snacks, water, phone charger, ID, cash/card & tip.

6. Take a shower, wear deodorant. Please don't douse yourself in perfume.

7. Dress comfortably in dark colors to avoid ink stains.

8. Stretch or do some light cardio before.

9. Do breathing exercises. 

10. Let your artist know immediately if you feel unwell/sick. 

11. Set aside enough time for yourself to not rush.


 Yes this is an expected part of the healing process. Don't scratch or pick at it. Flaking is a sign that you should moisturize. Feel free to use aloe vera gel, and a scent free lotion to hydrate and stave off the itch.  


 2 Week for shaving, 4+ weeks for waxing, plucking or threading.
